Good morning!
Did you see my title? Yes, it says something about scrap wars!
Sounds interesting, doesn't it?
Let me explain: You probably know that my scrapping style is defined by layered clusters, lots of details and a variety of embellishments in many forms, with elegance being the necessary element that glues all these together. It's not easy for me to create outside of these margins, honestly. Whenever I decide to try something different, most of the times my project ends up to be in the above-mentioned style.
BUT our
ScrapsNPieces coordinator, Amy Petrou, thought to provoke me by asking me to compete with one of my favourite super-talented scrappers,
Aliki Cavras, in a scrap war, where we would both do THE EXACT OPPOSITE of what we usually do.
Aliki is the absolute Clean-and-Simple girl. Flat and simple is her signature (
can you imagine my horror when she told me that I'm allowed to have only ONE layer in my layout???? lol), so I was required to create a page in this style. Now this is a challenge, ha!
Without further ado, this is my page with NO LAYERS - unbelievable to me
(I couldn't do without my colours, so I maintained a bit of my mixed-media trait in the circles, that were done with Gelatos - the truth is that the stamps saved my reputation lol)
In search of inspiration, I turned to the
Scrap Around the World Epic Event (AGAIN).
Initially I thought that a clean and simple page wouldn't fit the style of the challenge, but why should we submit to boundaries in inspiration? I think that the Scrap Around the World mood boards can definitely be used for any creation, in any style. So I picked one rose for the down right bouquet of the mood board and stuck it to the little hand of my girl. I also used the general theme, which is "Celebrate". Of course I couldn't ignore the lovely colour combination that I usually don't use, but since the challenge was to go beyond our limits, I tried these colours, as well.
This is all from me.
Thanks for visiting my blog and for the lovely comments you always leave me! They keep me going!
